#ScintillatingSunday with Devin and Alyssa from Christmas Fantasy

Happy Sunday!

Welcome to another Scintillating Sunday. Today I’m sharing a little of my paranormal romance, Christmas Fantasy with you. What I love most about Christmas Fantasy is the tension between the two main characters.

Devin is dark and full of secrets. He’s trying to balance his paranormal life with his human life in order to be the man his mate deserves. He believes her to be too innocent for the darkness he holds.

On the other hand, Alyssa is far from innocent. The thoughts running through her head and being written in her diary are as wild as they get. She’ll have to prove to Devin that she can be just as dark as he is. I hope you enjoy the excerpt.

With a growl, Devin picked her up and tossed her over his shoulder. Surprised was not a strong enough word to describe how Alyssa felt. She held on to his shirt as he strode to her front door and unlocked it. Devin had to bend down to avoid hitting Alyssa’s head as they entered her home. He kicked the door closed behind him, not bothering to lock it. “Where’s the bedroom?” he asked.

“To your right,” Alyssa said. Her house was completely dark, but he was seeing his way through it just fine. He even managed to avoid stepping on Vixen as she napped in front of Alyssa’s bedroom door. Devin made his way to Alyssa’s bed and gently tossed her onto the middle of it. Strands of her hair had come loose from her ponytail when Devin threw her over his shoulder. The rest of her tresses came loose when he tossed her on her bed, causing her locks to fall wildly over her face and shoulders.

Alyssa lifted her hand and pushed her hair away from her face and over her shoulders so she could get a good look at the caveman who just carried her into her house. Alyssa’s breath caught in her throat as she stared up at Devin.

His fists were clenched at his sides as if he was struggling to keep himself from pouncing on her. He reminded her of a caged animal, and she liked it. Damn that, she loved it. What had she been mad about earlier? She couldn’t remember. All of her anger had dissipated. The only thing on her mind now was Mr. Devin Jordan.

Alyssa wanted to tell him to come to her, but her mouth was too dry to speak. Instead, she lay back on the bed and opened her legs, inviting him to her with her body language. She watched his whole body shudder as he stared down at her, but made no move to join her.

“I want you so bad I ache,” Alyssa said, hoping her words would send him rushing to her arms.

He held his ground, staring down at her for what seemed like hours, but was only minutes. When he finally spoke, the words he whispered to her sealed the deal for her, forever.

“I’ve wanted you for so long, Alyssa.” Alyssa had no idea he’d felt that way about her. “Not a day has gone by that I haven’t wanted you,” he said. “Even before I met you, I wondered what you would look like, feel like, taste like. Now that I know, I won’t be able to give you up, ever.”

I hope you enjoyed the 8 paragraphs from Christmas Fantasy. Don’t you just love an alpha male who has a vulnerable side? I do. Christmas Fantasy is only 0.99c and free with Kindle Unlimited.

Talking Fear with the characters from Christmas Fantasy #GirlTalk

It has been a long time since we’ve had a nice long chat with the characters from Christmas Fantasy. So, in the spirit of Halloween, this week we’ll talk fears with Alyssa and Devin from Christmas Fantasy. Today’s questions, what is your worst fear and why?

I have one worst fear. I think about it all the time, but only when I’m at work. See, I keep a fantasy diary, and it contains all of my naughtiest fantasies. I fear one day I’ll go to lunch and forget to put it away, or step away from my desk and forget to close it, leaving it wide open for my boss to see it. That would be mortifying, especially since all of my wild fantasies are about him. So, yeah, that’s pretty much my worst fear. A close second is, tornadoes.

I don’t fear much. But If I had to list one thing I fear, it would be hurting Alyssa. As long as I keep things professional around her, I know I won’t be a threat to her. But doing that is so freaking hard whenever every time she licks her lips I want to drag her into my arms and kiss her senseless. However, I refrain from doing that. Because one kiss would never be enough. And there’s no way an innocent woman like her is ready for a beast like me.

Devin held her coat up for her. She turned around and slid her arms into the sleeves. He slowly pulled it up over her arms, and then over her shoulders. Alyssa pulled her hair from under her coat where it had gotten caught.

Devin inhaled the scent that was uniquely Alyssa. The smell of her nearly drove him mad. It was a mixture of peaches and cream and sheer sex appeal. A low growl rose from his chest as he lingered a second too long behind her. He felt her tense in front of him and quickly stepped away from her, trying to calm the beast within him.

Down boy, she’s not ours.

“Have a nice weekend, Alyssa. I will see you Monday morning.”
Devin hoped Alyssa didn’t hear the rawness in his voice. He wanted her badly, very badly, almost to the point of obsession.

He had to shove his hands into his jacket pockets to keep from touching her. His dark sunglasses kept her from seeing the change in his eyes. If she could read his mind she would probably put in her resignation and run.

Alyssa turned around to face him, her innocent brown eyes filled with uncertainty.
“Actually I won’t see you again until next year, Devin.”

Devin frowned, “Next year?”

“We’re off until after the New Year, remember?”

“Oh,” Devin nodded. “Yeah, Christmas is coming.”
He’d forgotten they were taking a break for the holidays. Damn, he wouldn’t see her for two weeks.
“Well, have a nice weekend and a Merry Christmas.”

“Have a nice weekend also and Merry Christmas.” Alyssa picked up her purse and her tote.

Like a good pretend gentleman Devin held the front door open for her as she walked out into the crisp cool air. Two weeks without her was going to be hell.

Why did he give her two weeks off for a holiday that only lasted one day? She turned to him one last time and waved goodbye before getting into her car to leave.

He locked up, and then watched her drive away. Ten minutes later he was standing in the exact same spot, staring in the direction she’d driven.

Two weeks… what the hell was wrong with him? There was no way he could go two weeks without seeing her. Just the thought of doing so, made him want to follow her and demand she spend her Christmas with him instead of her boyfriend and family.

Following her would be foolish. He’d done it before. The silly girl enjoyed sleeping with her window and her blinds slightly open and he enjoyed watching her sleep. He told himself that he did it just to make sure she got home safely.

But it was much more than that. Whenever she wasn’t near him, he worried about her. He worried about whether or not she was eating enough.

He worried about her living all alone in her house without any one there to protect her. This obsession he had with Alyssa Blakely was getting out of hand.

The problem was… he didn’t know how to stop it.
