Happy Sunday and welcome to my stop on the Scintillating Blog Hop! Today I am sharing a few paragraphs from a story that I’ve entered into the Harlequin So You Think You Can Write Contest. It’s a New Adult Multicultural Paranormal Romance. Enjoy…. đŸ™‚

The Blurb:

All her life Mackenzie Varnado has loved one man, Reed MacAfee. But to him she’s just the girl next door, his honorary little sister. So why is there always a spark in his eyes when he looks at her? How can she turn that spark into a flame?

It’s Reed’s job to protect Mackenzie. Knowing she’s his mate makes things a lot harder. He yearns to touch her, claim her, mark her. However, one bite from him will awaken the beasts in both of them. Unfortunately, that’s against pack rules.

But rules are meant to be broken.

Excerpt:

He doesn’t respond. He just stands there, his eyes wandering over my face like he’s drinking in my image. I want to touch him, but I’m scared to. What if I’m reading his signals wrong? Touching him could either make him touch me in return or it could cause me to look like a fool. I really don’t want to look like a fool in front of Reed, not when he’s being all super sexy Reed instead of big brother Reed.

“Did you hear what I asked you?” I say.

“Yeah I heard you.”

“Are you going to answer me?”

“You don’t want to hear my answer.”

“Yes I do.”

He shakes his head. I keep pressuring him for a response. “If I don’t look sorry, Reed, how do I look?” Please say sexy, please.

“Delicious, Mac, you look delicious.”
