Welcome to another Scintillating Sunday. Today I’m sharing a little of my paranormal romance, Christmas Fantasy with you. What I love most about Christmas Fantasy is the tension between the two main characters.
Devin is dark and full of secrets. He’s trying to balance his paranormal life with his human life in order to be the man his mate deserves. He believes her to be too innocent for the darkness he holds.
On the other hand, Alyssa is far from innocent. The thoughts running through her head and being written in her diary are as wild as they get. She’ll have to prove to Devin that she can be just as dark as he is. I hope you enjoy the excerpt.
With a growl, Devin picked her up and tossed her over his shoulder. Surprised was not a strong enough word to describe how Alyssa felt. She held on to his shirt as he strode to her front door and unlocked it. Devin had to bend down to avoid hitting Alyssa’s head as they entered her home. He kicked the door closed behind him, not bothering to lock it. “Where’s the bedroom?” he asked.
“To your right,” Alyssa said. Her house was completely dark, but he was seeing his way through it just fine. He even managed to avoid stepping on Vixen as she napped in front of Alyssa’s bedroom door. Devin made his way to Alyssa’s bed and gently tossed her onto the middle of it. Strands of her hair had come loose from her ponytail when Devin threw her over his shoulder. The rest of her tresses came loose when he tossed her on her bed, causing her locks to fall wildly over her face and shoulders.
Alyssa lifted her hand and pushed her hair away from her face and over her shoulders so she could get a good look at the caveman who just carried her into her house. Alyssa’s breath caught in her throat as she stared up at Devin.
His fists were clenched at his sides as if he was struggling to keep himself from pouncing on her. He reminded her of a caged animal, and she liked it. Damn that, she loved it. What had she been mad about earlier? She couldn’t remember. All of her anger had dissipated. The only thing on her mind now was Mr. Devin Jordan.
Alyssa wanted to tell him to come to her, but her mouth was too dry to speak. Instead, she lay back on the bed and opened her legs, inviting him to her with her body language. She watched his whole body shudder as he stared down at her, but made no move to join her.
“I want you so bad I ache,” Alyssa said, hoping her words would send him rushing to her arms.
He held his ground, staring down at her for what seemed like hours, but was only minutes. When he finally spoke, the words he whispered to her sealed the deal for her, forever.
“I’ve wanted you for so long, Alyssa.” Alyssa had no idea he’d felt that way about her. “Not a day has gone by that I haven’t wanted you,” he said. “Even before I met you, I wondered what you would look like, feel like, taste like. Now that I know, I won’t be able to give you up, ever.”
I hope you enjoyed the 8 paragraphs from Christmas Fantasy. Don’t you just love an alpha male who has a vulnerable side? I do. Christmas Fantasy is only 0.99c and free with Kindle Unlimited.
