Grateful for sisterly love #Thanksgiving #Romance #BlackFriday

Welcome to the Thanksgiving Romance blog hop. Today I’m sharing what I’m grateful for this holiday season. I’m grateful for my sisters. I have five older sisters and four older brothers. Yeah, I come from a big family. Growing up, my sisters were my first best friends. And they’ve remained my besties throughout the years. I can always count on them. As the youngest of ten children, yes they tormented me occasionally. Well, all the time. But they always protected me from others and still do today. I can tell them anything and they won’t judge me or think less of me. They are truly a gift from God and I love them with everything that’s in me. My love for my sisters is why I love writing series that feature sisters.

You have the Fantasy Diary series that features the Blakely sisters and their honorary sister, Tinsley. And you have the Beasts From Beyond series that features the Valdese sisters and their bestie, whose a witch, Farah. Lastly you have the Parks sisters, Lily and Beatrice, in The Ménage Club series.

Sisters have a bond that cannot be broken and in all of these series the sisters are pushed to their limits. The one thing that holds them together is that sisterly bond that nothing and no one can sever. Today I’m sharing an excerpt from Her Alien Protector.

Tears fell from Lola’s eyes. Lark tried to ignore them, she really did. She wanted to be mad at her sister. She wanted Lola to understand that letting emotions get the best of you was a weakness. There was no room for weakness in their line of work.

Their parents had worked hard to build a great life for them and everyone on Venus. It would be stupid to throw that all away just because you felt sorry for someone. But Lark loved her sister too much to continue this argument with her.

She didn’t know why she started it in the first place. She was feeling extra moody today. What she needed was a break, away from this place, away from being in charge. That couldn’t happen until her oldest sister returned from her mission. Until then, Lark had to keep her attitude in check and not go around hurting her baby sister’s feelings.

“Come here.” Lark opened her arms and Lola stepped into them.

No matter how much of a badass Lark pretended to be, she could never be that way with her family. That was her one weakness. She blamed her mother for that, instilling family first in all her girls.

“I’m sorry for sending that other prisoner away,” Lola mumbled, voice shaky. “I should’ve known he was lying. I’m truly sorry.”

“Hush now, I know you’re sorry and I know you want to save the world. But you can’t believe every sob story you’re told. Prisoners will do whatever they can to avoid being punished. They’ll lie, they’ll steal, and some of them would even kill us, if given the chance. Some lie and say they want to work here simply because they think they’ll be able to escape. Those particular beings will try to get you to see them as vulnerable. You can’t do that. Just do your job and ignore them. Don’t chat with them while you’re working on them, okay?”

Lola nodded.

“Good, now tell me what sob story this new prisoner has told you.”

Falling in love with a prisoner was against the rules.
So why was Lark allowing herself to get close to Raynor? He was domineering, cocky and much too handsome for his own good. Though her mind found him unbearable, her body was ready to endure anything he could deliver. However, she wouldn’t allow herself to fall for him, to trust him. Inside of him lived a darkness unlike anything she’d ever witnessed. If the rumors were true, that darkness would consume any and everyone in its path. Lark was going to try her best to stay out of his way.
Raynor Batiste was many things: a monster, a killer, one of the most feared creatures in the galaxy. He was a beast whose name sent shudders through his enemies. But a prisoner he was not. The only reason he’d allowed himself to be captured was so he could claim his mate, Lark Valdese.
That task was proving harder than he’d anticipated. Lark is afraid of what lives inside of him, and she should be. Yet, when her planet comes under attack, the evil lurking inside of him may be the only thing that can save her and her people.
He’s willing to protect her planet, but his aid comes at a price. A price only Lark can pay.

Fantasy Diary series follows the lives of three sisters, Alyssa, Ashley and Adora, who all possess a fantasy diary. In their diaries they write down all of their wicked fantasies. This year they’ve gotten their best friend Tinsley to join in on the fun. Having a fantasy diary sounds fascinating, doesn’t it?

Unfortunately the men they’ve chosen to be their fantasy buddies have dark secrets. These secrets place the girls and their new guy friends in horrible danger.
Soon fantasies are no longer on their mind. They are now fighting to save not only their lives, but the lives of their loved ones also.
Secrets are revealed, bonds are broken and lives are lost. But the worse is yet to come. There is a dark force heading their way and if they don’t find the strength to stand together as one, they will lose everything

“I hope you’re calling me to tell me you’re a few minutes away.”
“Good morning to you too Beatrice.”
“Why are you not here? It’s Christmas.”
“I know. But I said I may come, not that I was definitely coming.”
“Same thing.”
“No, it’s not.”
“So, where are you? You better not say home alone.”
“Well, I am alone…”
“Lily…”
“But not for long,” Lily added, her face heating in embarrassment.
“What do you mean not for long?”
“Well…” Was she really about to tell her sister that she was going to have a threesome with her ex-husband and his new boy toy.
“Lily Parks, talk before I hit the highway and come find out what the hell is going on.”
“No need to come this way. I just… well, I’ve made some last-minute holiday plans.”
“Continue.”
“Okay, I, uh, invited Charles and Paul over to dinner.”
Silence. Lily waited for her sister to say something. That panicked feeling returning, seizing her and refusing to let go.
“Lily…” Beatrice started then paused.
Lily paced behind her counter. Maybe she shouldn’t have called her sister. Hell, maybe she shouldn’t have left Charles that voice mail. Perhaps the divorce and these feelings were driving her mad.
Her neighbor saw a therapist. She could ask Rebecca for the doctor’s number. But lying back on a couch talking about her problems didn’t seem like the answer to her problem. She was too private for that.
“Lily, did you hear me?”
Lily stopped pacing. “Uh, no, sorry. What did you say?” She’d been so caught up in her whole self-induced panic attack that she hadn’t heard a word her sister had spoken.
“I said, you have made me the proudest sister to ever walk this earth.”
“Wait, what?” Surely she hadn’t heard her correctly. “Why are you proud of me?”
“Because of your idea. I think it’s the best idea ever Lily.”
