#MondayMotivation: Recovering From Christmas

mondayyyy

It’s December 26th and we’ve all probably eaten too much, drank too much and now we don’t feel like doing anything.

Trust me, I understand. I had Christmas at home, then at my sister’s house, then with my in-laws. And though I wasn’t hungry after having dinner at home, at each stop on my Christmas tour I was told to try this, taste that, drink this. And I did. (I couldn’t say no. Trust me, I tried.)

By the time I got home, I felt like a stuffed turkey. I showered and spent the rest of the night watching Beauty and the Beast while my stuffed husband snored. I was so full, I couldn’t sleep.

Now, it’s the day after and I still feel full. Now, I also feel lazy. I have writing deadlines approaching, blog posts to write, and clothes to iron. Yet, all I want to do is stay in bed and watch Netflix. (I’m hooked on Super Girl.)

If you’re like me and have things to do, there’s no way you can stay in bed all day and not get things done. Want to know what helped me get up and get to work?

Coffee… lot’s of it. And a hour on the treadmill.

Afterwards, I felt more energized and ready to take on Monday. My husband is still in bed and swears he’s not getting up until tomorrow. LOL. So, don’t allow the day after Christmas to get you down.

Do whatever you have to, as long as its legal, to get yourself back on track. For you, it may not be a whole pot of coffee and a hour of working out. Whatever it is, do it, get re-energized and tell Monday to suck it.

I’m hoping everyone has a productive Monday. And if you choose to stay in bed and relax, there’s nothing wrong with that. 🙂

Since I’m on the subject of staying motivated, let’s chat about my newest release, Falling For The Succubus. The Heroine in the story is finding it hard to stay focused on her goals.

Usually she’s not easily distracted. But her current target has her rethinking her career. Instead of capturing him, she’s thinking about kissing him. Instead of arresting him, she’s thinking about undressing him.

I think Anika needs a pot of coffee and a hour on the treadmill. Happy Monday and have a great day!

Her name is Anika Kaleen. She’s a galactic bounty hunter.
My enemies call me Death. I’m her target.

Falling for her should be the last thing on my mind. Yet, she’s all I think about. It’s ironic that the only female I want, wants me dead. She’s no match for me. Her pride drives her to continue searching for me. My feelings for her keep me from ending her life and putting a stop to this madness.
I’ve tried warning her away. I’ve tried scaring her away. Nothing is working. The only thing her determination is doing is making me want her more. I told her to stop hunting me. I told her if our paths crossed again, I would take her. She didn’t listen. She never listens. But I always keep my promises.

She wants me dead.
I want her… period.
Let’s see which one of us completes our mission.

  1. Wonderful post! You’re making us all look bad. Great motivation though…sometimes, you just have to jump back on the “treadmill.” Your little except is tantalizing too. I love the words Succubus and Incubus. 😉
