Happy Anniversary to my loving husband. I have to say, I have the most wonderful and supportive man in the world. He puts up with me and all my craziness. He doesn’t complain about my late night writing. He doesn’t mind when I return home from the grocery store with an arm full of books and no groceries. (I get distracted easily.)

He’s the greatest guy I know and I’m glad God gave him to me as a mate. During the wedding planning I turned into a bridezilla. I didn’t all the way turn, I was like, half way there. He would just rub my back and tell me to breathe.

In the end, thanks to my mother in law, everything turned out perfect. Below are some photos from that special day.

The cake and decor was exactly what I wanted. I write dark paranormal romance, so of course my wedding colors were black, red and white.

The guests loved the bookmarks. So did I. I actually wanted to keep them all for myself. Alas, I relented and let the others have them. Though, I did keep a few.

I have a large family which means I have too many nieces to count. The four youngest all wanted to be my flower girls, so I let them. #BestAuntInTheWorld

My handsome nephew was the ring bearer. He did such a good job.

My father passed away when I was a teen. I was honored to have one of my brothers give me away. #ImTheYoungest #Spoiled

The happy couple. And yes it did rain. My hopes of taking pictures in the garden of our venue was ruined. But, my brother told me the rain was good luck. And my big brother is always right. 🙂

My brides maids drove me crazy while we were dress hunting. They finally decided on a dress they all liked.

Three years ago, on June 1st, I married my best friend. I haven’t regretted it. I write romance books. I read romance books. I live in a fantasy world where happily ever afters are real. But, I know real life is hard and it doesn’t always work out the way we plan.

That doesn’t mean I can’t keep believing that my Prince Charming will continue being the loving man he is or that our life will continue to be filled with pixie dust and rainbows. As long as we believe it, we can achieve it. And we definitely believe it.

Happy Scintillating Sunday. Today I’m happy to share with you guys an excerpt from my new Sci-Fi Romance novel, Her Alien Protector.

He was dreaming. He had to be.

This couldn’t be real. His mate couldn’t be on her knees in front of him, licking her lips, looking like a siren from his fantasies. But the hand around his cock felt real. The warmth of her breath against the tip of him felt real.

Raynor watched in awe and shock as his mate leaned forward, bringing her parted lips closer to his cock. And this was her first time. Pride filled him. Never in his life had he been as hard as he was right now. Never had he been this aroused.

If there was a rational thought left in his head, it would tell him to push her away from him. It would tell him that this was the same female who shunned him, the same female who said she could never mate with the likes of him.

He was long past the ability to form a rational thought or listen to logic. And was pushed further over the edge the moment she wrapped her lips around his cock. A hiss escaped him and he begged his body to be still.

There was no need for her to know how deeply her actions affected him. She pushed her mouth down on him, going as far as she could then pulled back, taking with her his ability to breath. Stars, the friction would be the death of him. He closed his eyes but her words forced them back open.

“Watch me.”

Damn it, did she want him to come undone before she finished? That would be the outcome if he continued to watch what she was doing to him. Yet, he obeyed, not wanting to admit to himself how much he yearned to watch her love him with her mouth.

So why was Lark allowing herself to get close to Raynor? He was domineering, cocky and much too handsome for his own good. Though her mind found him unbearable, her body was ready to endure anything he could deliver. However, she wouldn’t allow herself to fall for him, to trust him. Inside of him lived a darkness unlike anything she’d ever witnessed. If the rumors were true, that darkness would consume any and everyone in its path. Lark was going to try her best to stay out of his way.

They called him The Destroyer.

Raynor Batiste was many things: a monster, a killer, one of the most feared creatures in the galaxy. He was a beast whose name sent shudders through his enemies. However, a prisoner he was not. The only reason he’d allowed himself to be captured was so he could claim his mate, Lark Valdese.

That task was proving harder than he’d anticipated. Lark is afraid of what lives inside of him, and she should be. Yet, when her planet comes under attack, the evil lurking inside of him may be the only thing that can save her and her people.

He’s willing to protect her planet, but his aid comes at a price, a price only Lark can pay. Will she give in to the beast in order to save her world?

#1. What’s a nickname only your family calls you?

*They used to call me Nae-Nae. (My middle name is Renee.) But now they’ve shortened it to just Nae. Why? Because I now have a niece with the middle name Renee. So she is the new Nae-Nae and I’m just Nae. (Yeah, my family is weird.)

#2. What’s a weird habit of yours?

*I stay up all night and sleep all day. #Vampire

#3. Do you have any weird phobias?

*I’m terrified of bad weather. Tornadoes to be exact. I travel for work and I refuse to go to any state located in tornado alley. Not happening.

#4. What’s a song you secretly LOVE to blast & belt out when you’re alone?

*Diva by Beyonce

#5. What’s one of your biggest pet peeves?

*This is probably more road rage than pet peeve. But, I hate when someone swerves in front of me like they are racing to get somewhere important and then I watch them pull into Starbucks or something like that. Like really, was your espresso that important?

#6. What’s one of your nervous habits?

*None now. I used to bite my nails when I was younger.

#7. What side of the bed do you sleep on?

*Left side.

#8. What was your first stuffed animal & what was its name?

*It was a brown teddy bear. But I don’t remember his name. I loved that bear. I also had a stuffed Garfield that I took everywhere I went, even to school.

#9. What’s the drink you ALWAYS order at Starbucks?

*I make my own coffee at home. It’s delicious.

#10. What’s the beauty rule you preach.. but never ACTUALLY practice?

*I don’t really have a beauty rule. Wish I did.

#11. Which way do you face in the shower?

*Towards the water. Then I turn around to wash my back then face the water again. LOL.

#12. Do you have any ‘weird’ body ‘skills’?

*Well, you know how some people can pop their knuckles. I can pop my wrists and ankles also. And my back. I got skills.

#13. What’s your favourite ‘comfort food’/food that’s ‘bad’ but
you love to eat it anyways?

*PIZZA! Stuffed crust meat lovers from Pizza Hut.

*Really! Oh and, ‘Who does that?’

*T-shirt, usually my husband’s and a head scarf.

#SexySaturday Meet Raynor, a beast from the beyond.

Happy sexy Saturday. Today, I am excited to introduce you to Raynor. He’s one of the beasts from beyond. Raynor is a vampire who enjoys long walks on the beach, at night of course. He loves to talk for hours and he’s a great cook.

Who am I kidding? He’s only one of those things. Raynor is indeed a vampire. He hates the beach, and would much rather fight than talk. He doesn’t have to cook because you can’t cook blood. He’s a warrior whose finally caught whiff of his mate. Unfortunately, he may have to kill a few beings to get next to her.

A low growl reverberated through his chest. She halted on the stairs and glanced over her shoulder at him. She’d caught him staring. That was something she was going to have to get used to.

He would never grow tired of staring at her. It was within his rights to do so, that, and much more. A blush crept up her neck, proving she wasn’t as immune to him as she pretended to be.

“Take your eyes off my ass,” she ordered.

“Where would you have me stare?”

“Anywhere, but my ass. You know what, move, get in front of me.” She pressed her back to the wall, making room for him to move in front.

Chuckling, he did as he was asked. His little mate, so used to giving orders. He couldn’t wait to turn the tables on her, to teach her what it was like to give in, to submit.

“Hurry up,” she ordered.

“Why are you always in a rush?” he called over his shoulder.

“Because I have somewhere else to be.”

He paused. “Where?”

“With a friend.”

Raynor turned around. Her eyes widened once their gazes met. He knew the darkness he was trying to hide was slipping free, spilling into his eyes. He couldn’t help it. His mate was in a rush to be rid of him so she could step into the arms of another.

“Raynor, your eyes…”

“What friend?”

“Why do they swirl like that?”

Because I’m close to losing it. “What friend?”

“Why?”

“What. Friend?”

Lark rolled her eyes. He could sense how nervous she was. His brave mate hid it well.

“Not friend, friends.”

“More than one,” he snarled. Stars, what type of female was he mated to?

“Of course.”

He would kill them all. “How many?” He stepped forward. He needed their names. Where did they dwell? They would all die before the next solar flare.

She stepped back, shrugging. “Ten maybe.”

Ten? Ten!

“The females here seem to pop out babies the way humans of Earth do.”

Babies? “What?”

“The nursery. I want to go there before they lock down for the waning.”

“The babies are your friends? You mean, little ones?”

“Yes, and we call them babies here. The babies and their mothers are my friends. I like checking on them.” Forehead creased, she placed her hands on her hips. “Do you have a problem with that?”

Raynor grinned, finding it easier to breathe now. “No problems here.” Little ones. She liked little ones. Could his mate be any more perfect? He turned and continued his trek up the stairs, not wanting to keep his mate from her ‘friends’.

Happy Scintillating Sunday. Enjoy eight paragraphs from my Paranormal Romance, Christmas Fantasy.

“Alyssa, I need you.” He spoke around her finger, not releasing it, his tongue teasing her flesh.

She needed him also. She ached so badly for his touch, but she was afraid still. Afraid of what he was, afraid of what he could do to her without even trying. He opened his eyes, gaze dark.

“I can be gentle, Alyssa.” He grabbed her wrist and slipped her finger from his mouth. “Let me show you.” He pressed a light kiss to her fingertip.

“Devin, it’s too soon and…”

“I promise I won’t hurt you, sweetie. Let me show you.”

“I want to, believe me, but I’m…” Scared, was she really? No, she was just nervous. There was a difference. She knew Devin wouldn’t hurt her, but his beast was different, would he be able to keep what lived inside of him on a leash? “I just wish there was a way I could watch you change without you touching me.”

He frowned. Damn it. Her words hurt him, it showed on his face. The darkness began to fade out of his eyes. “No.” Alyssa leaned closer to him. She hadn’t meant to hurt his feelings. “I just want to see you fully changed before we proceed,” she told him.

“I can’t change unless provoked, by anger, hunger or sex.” The mentioning of sex brought the blackness she craved back into his eyes. But there was no way she was just going to hop back into bed with him without seeing him fully changed. But, what if she handcuffed him, just long enough to see if his beast could be gentle with her? That plan just might work.

She knew her scent was in the air when his nose flared and he clenched his hands into fists. He was struggling with keeping himself in check. Serves him right. No one should have the heightened senses that he did.

It was unfair and should be illegal. The longer she stared at him the more uncomfortable he became. Lark smiled when he shifted in his seat. Though his gray attire was loose fitting, it couldn’t hide the bulge he was sporting.

Fascinated by it, she watched the imprint grow longer. She could clearly picture it, the way it looked yesterday: wet, long and hard as he’d stepped from the marble tub in the bathing chamber.

And just like yesterday, today she found herself wondering what he would feel like inside her. Would he be gentle with her, easing into her until her body was accustomed to his girth?

Or would he pounded into her, erasing her fears with each thrust, proving that pleasure without pain was no fun at all?

“Damn it, Lark.” Raynor slammed his head against the wall. “What are you thinking? Tell me now. Tell me your thoughts?”

Welcome to Sexy Saturday! Every weekend this month I’ll share a short sexy excerpt from my new sensual Sci-Fi romance, Her Alien Protector. The novel is scheduled to be released May 28th. If you love romances that are out of this world, then you will adore Raynor and Lark’s story.

“Move away from me,” she spoke slowly making sure her voice didn’t betray her.

This creature was wreaking havoc on her mind and body. It had been two solar flares since she last had sex. Venusians were known for their sexual prowess and going that long without having someone touch her flesh was making her crazy. So crazy that even a vampire could arouse her.

“Answer the question,” he whispered, staring down at her.

“Um, I.” There it was again. The darkness in his eyes was swirling. Fascinating. She shook her head to clear it. “What was the question?”

“Has anyone ever told you that you smell divine?”

Of course not. No one flirted with her. “No, no one has ever told me that.”

“Good,” his wicked grin kicked her desire up a notch. “I get to be your first.”

Her first, she wished. Wait, no she didn’t. Her embarrassment caused her to revert back to her first line of defense, sarcasm. “Has anyone ever told you that you’re an irritating pain in the ass?”

“And lived? No. I guess that makes you my first.”

Oh my. The images his words caused her mind to create were illegal on at least three planets. She needed to get the hell away from him.

~Week Three: Top Three~

This week I am giving props to the handsome men on The Walking Dead. In my honest opinion, every one in the world should watch this show. It is freaking awesome. If you like romance, they’ve got that. If you like drama, they’ve got that. If you’re into the blood and guts type shows, they’ve got tons of that. See, they have something for every one. So, let me introduce you to my Walking Dead Boyfriends!

#1 Rick Grimes and #2 Daryl Dixon

So, in this pic, they’re a little dirty, but, that’s when they’re at their best. Why do I love these two? Glad you asked. They are apocalypse warriors. They’re protective and they are caring. Neither are scared to get their hands dirty and they both will risk their lives for the people they love. When the zombie apocalypse comes, and it’s coming, I want to be around these two.

#3 Jesus

Yes, you read that right. Jesus. Yes, there’s a character on the show with that name. But, since I don’t feel comfortable saying, Jesus is hot, let’s call him J. J is a new character to the show and at first I thought he was the bad guy. Turns out, Mr. Sexy Eyes is on team good. Did I mention he’s part ninja? You have to watch the show to see what I mean.

Okay, when I say I love this show, I mean it. Therefore I don’t feel right leaving without sharing the other guys from the cast. I love them also.

~WEEK TWO TOP THREE~

#1 Mack: Agents of Shield.

His character is awesome. I’ve loved watching him grow and change into the leader he’s become. He’s dependable, he’s always there for Daisy, and when he cried when Hunter and Bobbie left… I almost cried. Oh and he’s sexy!

#2 Ichabod Crane: Sleepy Hollow

Despite the fact that I HATED how this season ended, I still absolutely adore Mr. Crane. First of all, he’s dreamy. He’s not just handsome, he’s dreamy. I loved his chemistry with Abbie Mills. I could listen to him talk all day long. No matter what’s in store for Sleepy Hollow, I will always be a fan of this guy.

#3 Lincoln from the 100:

I haven’t watched The 100 lately. But, my bestie has kept me updated on everything going on. So, yeah, I know what happens. However, I did watch season one and immediately fell in television love with Lincoln. I got two words for you, those eyes. Oh and two more, that chest.

You have to love these three! Not only are they sexy and handsome, they are also brave and loyal… a great combination. So, are these three part of your list? Leave a comment letting me know who your television boyfriends/girlfriends are.

#3 Castiel

Two words, that coat. He makes that coat look good. I love how clueless he is about earthly things and how close he is to Dean. Plus, he’s easy on the eyes.

Today I’m sharing eight paragraphs from my latest paranormal novel, Her Dream Lover. The story follows the lives of Brandi Connelly and Draken Barrand. Brandi is the new overnight ward clerk at the psychiatric hospital Draken is trapped in.

After being an unwilling patient in the hospital for years, imagine Draken’s surprise when he finds out his mate is now working there. Having thought he’d never have one, Draken is obsessed with learning more about her. What he learns makes him eager to claim her. But first, he has to break free of his cell. Enjoy this snippet.

“Do you miss him?” Draken asked her

Brandi shook her head. Surprised by the way he was staring at her. Boy was he jealous. Brandi wanted to reach out and touch him, to show him Nigel was definitely not the man she wanted to be with. “I don’t want Nigel and I don’t miss him. Good riddance to him.” She was rambling but she wanted to get her point across.

“Good,” He gazed down at her and when he licked his lips her breath caught in her throat, he was beautiful. She could stare into his dark eyes forever. “Do not fret over this Nigel. He does not deserve you. He wasn’t the man for you, trust me, your mate loves every inch of your body.”

His voice was so deep and sexy. She trembled as he held her captive with his gaze. “Thank you,” Brandi whispered, not knowing what else to say. Mate, what was a mate? Was he talking about pirates? Was she dreaming about a pirate? She was confused. Leave it to her to have a confusing dream.

“It pleases me that you are no longer with him.” He leaned closer to her.

“W-why does that please you?”

“Because it’s means I do not have to take his life in order to claim what is rightfully mine.” His words were cryptic and sort of scary, still they made her feel cherished. He would kill for her. Maybe she was dreaming about pirates. That would make her the beautiful sea siren. He rubbed his thumb over her lower lip and Brandi shuddered. Closing her eyes, she willed her dream lover to kiss her.

She felt him lean even closer to her. His breath caressed her cheek. Pressing his hand against her throat, he massaged the base of her neck. His long fingers trembled as if he was trying to hold himself back from ravishing her. He didn’t have to hold back. She wanted to be ravished. Please kiss me, I’m ready. She focused harder.
