Her Dream Lover by Siren Allen #InLust #Paranormal #Giveaway #TheDarkestLegion

madlyinlust1

Welcome to the Madly In Lust Blog Event. Today we’re featuring a seductive scene from my paranormal romance, Her Dream Lover. Enjoy this little bit of naughtiness. And it’s definitely NAUGHTY. You’ve been warned!

HDL NEW COVER

Every time she closes her eyes, he’s there…waiting for her.

Working night shift at a mental hospital was never Brandi Connelly’s dream job, but in order to pay her grandmother’s medical bills she’s willing to do whatever she has to. Her new job seems like a piece of cake, there is only one thing keeping her from enjoying it – Draken Barrand, a patient.

Thoughts of her patient haunt her night and day and she’s too embarrassed to tell anyone about the strange dreams she’s having about him. Partly because she’s afraid they will think she’s crazy…mostly because the things that go on while she’s sleeping make her blush.

As the nightly visions become all too real she’s afraid they’re not dreams at all. If these nightly fantasies are real, that means everything her dream lover has told her is real, which means that the little mating ritual she so excitedly participated in was real. Soon she will change into a demon and there is nothing she can do about it.

Claimed and marked, she now belongs to a creature of the night. There’s just one up side to this – he’s trapped behind the walls of a mental institution. That means she has time to figure out a way to stop the change… well, she would’ve had time, if her mate hadn’t broken out of his cell.

He’s tired of being alone.

Draken Barrand is determined to claim his mate. There’s just one problem – he’s unlawfully trapped behind the walls of a mental institution. The only way he can reach her is through her dreams, where he claims her and marks her as his own. But his mate’s life is threatened when the Leader of his Legion finds out about his unlawful mating.

Will Draken be able to break free of his cell in time to save his woman? If he does, will she finally accept him as the man of her dreams and her reality?

She held her breath as he touched her between her legs. Arousal shot through her.
“So wet,” he mumbled against her navel. “So ready.” His tongue dipped into her belly button.
Yes, she was so ready. It had been two years since she’d made love and the only lover she’d ever had was her ex. He liked to do all the work, liked to feel in control. So usually she just lay there and enjoyed, somewhat, the things he did to her.
He was never this thorough or…
All thoughts of her ex were destroyed when Draken slipped a finger inside of her. Her hips jerked. There was no way she was going to be able to stay still while he did those things to her.
Her body was on fire, burning from the inside out. Draken slid his finger in deeper and Brandi moaned at the feel of him pushing into her. He used his thumb to apply pressure to her clitoris as he slipped his finger in and out of her.
“Beautiful,” he whispered, continuing to explore her flesh. Brandi rotated her hips. His fingers slipped deeper into her.
“So wet,” he said again. “Wet for me. Only me. I could watch you like this all day, every day.” Draken continued to work her body with his fingers while he kissed and nibbled his way from her navel to the red curls of her sex. “Open your eyes.”
Brandi barely heard what Draken was saying to her. His words didn’t matter. The only thing that mattered was what he was doing to her body with his fingers. She loved it, she needed this. Her body needed this. Brandi lifted her hips, causing his fingers to delve deeper into her.
“Open your eyes baby.”
She heard him that time. Brandi opened her eyes. Breathe and swallow she told herself.
Her dream lover was between her open legs, mouth hovering above the entrance of her body. Draken inhaled her scent then closed his eyes groaning.
“I need to taste you.” He opened his eyes. Using his shoulder, he nudged her legs open wider. “I need to taste you here,” he pulled his fingers out of her and rubbed her juices over her clit.
There was nothing for her to say. The only thing she could do was watch, in anticipation of what was coming next. Draken brought his face closer to her heat. So close that she could feel his breath on her p*ssy.
He placed a kiss on her tiny bud then leaned back to stare at her quivering flesh. He leaned forward again and rubbed his tongue over her clitoris. One long swipe, that was all. It set her body on fire.

Blackthorne by Lynn Cooper #InLust #Romance #KindleUnlimited

madlyinlust1

Welcome to the Madly In Lust Blog Event. Today we’re featuring a seductive scene from Lynn Cooper’s romance, Blackthorne. Enjoy the ride!

cover-for-blackthorne

Paisley
If I was as smart as the records at Bennington All-Girls Private School say I am, I would go off to college, get a degree and meet a nice, young, scholarly man. A safe, low-key man who would love me and give me children. A man who isn’t wild, edgy and dark. A man who isn’t way older than me, who isn’t more dangerous, powerful and exciting than he should be. A man who isn’t a gun-for-hire. I guess it’s true what they say: good girls are drawn to bad boys. And they don’t come any more badass than Carson Tanner Blackthorne.

Blackthorne
First order of business: put as much distance between me and Paisley Lang Meadows as possible. She’s a good girl, sweet and innocent. The kind of woman a man like me could corrupt with a single touch. No matter how strong the attraction is between us, she and I are not happening. I’m no good for her. She peers up at me with those big brown eyes, and I know she sees me as a hero—her savior—but she deserves better than a paid killer. I would give anything to bury myself in her heat and purity. Between her thighs there’s redemption. I can feel it. But I refuse to sacrifice Paisley in order to save myself.

Blackthorne is an emotionally-intense, standalone romance that is not intended for the faint of heart. It’s a rollercoaster of desire and danger, lust and love, passion and protection. It will warm your soul, curl your toes and leave you breathless. Enjoy the ride.

blackthorne-teaser

Opening the mini-fridge, I pull out a bottle of champagne and two perfectly-chilled glasses. I pour them half full and hand her one. She frowns but takes the fluted glass. Before bringing it to her cute, pouty mouth, she says, “You’re not slipping me a Ruffie, are you?”

I shake my head and chuckle. “No, Little Lamb. I want you good and alert for what’s in store.”

She takes a long sip. I imagine it’s for courage as much as thirst.
“And just what is that, Mr.—I mean, Carson?”

Without answering her, I take her glass and set it on the nightstand alongside mine. I can’t take my eyes off her. Her body was made for caressing, touching. For my touch. Her once tiny nubbins have blossomed into bountiful breasts I’m dying to fill my hands and mouth with. To bury my face in.

Her hips call out for a vise-like grip, for my fingertips to dig in them while I take her from behind. And God help me, but the damp, dark, triangle of curls ghosted against the nearly-translucent fabric of that damn tunic is driving me mad. I can’t wait to tangle my fingers in her bush and smooth it back to reveal the wet heat of her womanhood. Unable to hold myself in check a moment longer,

I grab the hem and rip it clear to the neckline. The torn pieces fall to either side of her torso, revealing the creamy, flawless skin of youth. Paisley gasps and scurries up the mattress, pressing herself hard against the headboard like a frightened mouse.

“Come now,” I say, sitting down beside her. “Am I to believe a sassy, grown-ass woman who purposely foregoes a bra and panties is really as bashful as all this?”

She nods.

“You really are a lousy liar,” I say, grabbing her by the ankles and jerking her back down the mattress.

Her whole body quivers in expectation, and her voice becomes so low and small I can barely hear her. “Are you going to fuck me now?” she asks, biting her lower lip. The sight of it caught between her teeth makes me want to nip it with my own.

“No. I’m going to taste you,” I say, leaning over her.

“Where?” She’s whimpering now.

Placing a finger beneath her delicate chin, I tilt her face up. “Here,” I growl before covering her mouth with mine. She tastes like sweet peaches and fizzy champagne. I can feel her perfect, pink nipples pebbling against my chest as I kiss her soft and easy, hot and deep. She opens her lips to my probing tongue.

Her warm, breathless sighs are a sign of submission passing from her mouth to mine, and I eagerly swallow them down. Even knowing I have to send her away doesn’t mute my need for her acceptance. She has to want what I do to her, or it’s no good. My tongue surges against hers then I grasp her lower lip between my teeth one final time before nibbling her neck.

“I need to touch you,” he told her, reaching for her.

Melanie stepped back under the hot spray of the water and let it wash the rest of the suds away. Soap free, she turned the shower off then moved closer to him. “I want you to touch me.”

He reached for her.

She took a step back. “Tongue only,” she told him.

His gaze became heated as he dropped to his knees in front of her. He gripped her hips and pushed her back until she was pressed against the shower wall. He lifted her leg and placed it over his shoulder.

Gripping his hair for balance, Melanie closed her eyes as his lips wrapped around her clit. Flames of desire leapt over her skin. His tongued twirled around her clit, making delicious circles around her tiny bud. She moaned his name when he ground his mouth against her.

She gripped his head and held him there as she lifted her hips and fu**ed his face. His hands slipped from her hips and curved around her ass, pulling her closer to his mouth. Up and down she lifted her hips as he licked her.

“So sweet,” he whispered against her before sliding his tongue between her wet folds.

She could feel her orgasm approaching. Moving her hips faster she chased it down, wanting to come in his mouth the same way he’d came in hers. Her thighs shook, hips jerked, knees grew weak.

She was close, so close.

How did a text message lead to blood on her hands?

Melanie Pittman never should’ve responded to the message her boss sent, demanding she join the festivities at his mansion. With her job on the line, she showed up, only to flee moments later, covered in her boss’s blood.
And his son had watched her flee.

She’d known his willingness to not turn her in was too good to be true. Now he’s blackmailing her: sex for silence. The only thing making this situation worse was the fact that she enjoyed the things he did to her. The way he handled her body, the dirty things he said to her, she loved it all, even though she knew he would never think of her as anything other than a toy he could play with, manipulate. He held her freedom in his hands.

And now his older, more ruthless brother knows what she’s done.

What will it take to keep him silent?

the-plot

REALITY IS NOT A FAIRYTALE. CAN A VICTIM OF HUMAN TRAFFICKING HAVE A HAPPY ENDING AFTER YEARS OF ABUSE AND DEGRADATION? ESPECIALLY WHEN HER ONLY FOCUS IS GETTING PAYBACK…

At eighteen, Yoko Hirano falls into the tentacles of a human trafficking organization and is forced into prostitution. Her first sexual experience is close to a rape, so she becomes traumatized and her opinions about men are low and unflattering. She uses her charms only as means of manipulation.

Four years later she meets the tall, dark and charming antique dealer Mark Chandler. They both acknowledge reluctantly the complicated chemistry between them, but Yoko’s grand scheme of things doesn’t involve falling in love, nor does she think Mark would want her if he found out about her past. To get revenge and prevent other girls from sharing her fate, she plans to ruin the Chinese triad that has destroyed her life and innocence.

However, she doesn’t realize that Mark can be an asset in her plans of bringing down the powerful mobster Michael Chen and his interlopers. Together, they make a quite formidable pair…

the-plot-teaser-2

“I’m not a porcelain doll, Mark. Please don’t treat me as one. Kiss me like you mean it.”

He needed no further encouragement to draw her against him and lower his mouth on hers, with a low sound of need and desire. His tongue slid boldly between her lips and was welcomed by her own. This primal mating ritual made her body yield and gravitate toward him, as he lowered her onto her back and his body half-covered hers.

As their mouths played carnal games, she could feel his erection against her hip, straining the fabric of his jeans. Oddly, she didn’t feel repulsed or afraid, but felt an acute need to get closer, to fit against him, around him.
Suddenly, he tore his mouth away from hers, breathing heavily.

His eyes were smoky with arousal and his struggle for self control was almost palpable when he said gruffly, “I’d better go.”

She didn’t hesitate this time when she looked up into his face.
“Stay,” she pleaded.

He stared at her inquisitively for a long moment before he asked, “Are you sure?”

Yoko didn’t need words to convey her feelings. She slid her fingers up through his hair and drew his mouth back to hers. Her decision of abandoning herself to him completely had been taken long ago.

He kissed her passionately, sending his tongue deep into her mouth and making shivers of arousal run through her body. His weight on top of her was something wonderful and thrilling.

She dragged his jacket off his shoulders and threw it on the floor, letting her hands drift over him, enjoying the ripple of his back muscles. The ends of his hair fell over her forehead, and she was amazed that even this feathery touch could bring her pleasure.

When he brushed his lips and teeth over her neck, her bones seemed to liquefy and she dug her fingers into his hard biceps. She was overwhelmed by his virility, which made her extremely aware of her own femininity. She sensed he was still restraining himself and appreciated the gesture, even as it frustrated her.

His hand glided down to cup her breast, caressing it with soft, sinuous motions. When his mouth descended to the distended peak and surrounded it through the soft material of her dress, a moan vibrated in her throat.

Mark’s hand found the zipper at her back and tugged at it, slowly peeling the fabric off her shoulders, torso and arms, his lips and tongue discovering every inch of skin revealed.

Before she even realized it, the dress was gone and she was left in a pair of white lace panties. Mark knelt on the bed to gaze at her, and she was enthralled, lost in his dark eyes.

“You’re beautiful,” he said. “I want you so much. But I don’t want to use you, Yoko. I want you because you’re beautiful, and sweet, and smart, and sexy. I want to love you, to worship you. I want to give myself to you, completely.”

Her chest tightened with emotion. She was spellbound by his words and by his gaze locked on hers. When he began unbuttoning his shirt, all she could think of was how gorgeous he was and how much she loved him. His chest was broad and powerful, sexily dusted with dark hair.

His muscles were subtly defined under the taut, tanned skin. She yearned to graze her teeth over his dark nipples and trace the fine lines that delineated his hard pectorals and flat abdomen. Even his navel looked delicious. She longed to dip her tongue into it.

When he stretched out over her again and took her mouth, she knew she was giving him not only her body, but her soul as well. Decades from now she would remember and cherish this moment. She reached down and unbuckled his belt, then unzipped his jeans and helped him discard them, leaving him in nothing but a pair of black boxers.

Even that was too much, in her opinion. His strong thighs fit between her own and she pressed herself to his rigid erection, in an instinctive movement that made her blood run hot and her sex become damp.

A low groan escaped from Mark’s chest to hers, as he continued kissing her hungrily. His hands were all over her. He renewed the path of kisses down her body, making her gasp with excitement.

When he reached the waistband of her panties, he slipped them off her legs, then traced kisses up her thighs until his breath hovered over her center. An indescribable shiver jolted through her at the first touch of his mouth, and she tensed.

Mark sensed the movement. He looked up, his hands still holding her hips.
“What’s the matter?”

Yoko’s breaths were rapid and choppy. She knew she didn’t make any sense when she said, “I never… I mean, no one’s ever… You don’t have to…”

A smile stretched his sensual mouth.
“I’m glad to hear that I’m the first one to kiss your lips. Twice,” he added wickedly and bent his head over her.

She didn’t manage to utter any coherent sounds after that, lost in the mind-blowing sensations his mouth was coaxing from her body. His tongue flicked and stroked, circled and soothed until she surrendered completely, letting the wave of pleasure rise and carry her with it to the first peak of fulfillment she’d ever experienced.

It was several dazed moments later her ears stopped ringing and she stared up at Mark, who was kissing her mouth gently.

“God, this was… I’ve never…” she repeated, feeling silly for not making any sense.

But he just smiled down at her and laid a kiss on the tip of her nose.
“I know.”

She realized his sex was still hard and throbbing, pressing against her lower abdomen. To her astonishment, fresh desire pumped through her and she adjusted their bodies so the tip of his penis slipped inside her. His breath accelerated, but he only pushed an inch into her, as though trying to control himself. She could feel him quivering with need and hot-blooded arousal.

“Don’t hold back,” she whispered and lowered her hands to his buttocks, drawing him deeper.

Pleasure arrowed through her when he slid inside her with a gruff moan. He began to move, tentatively at first, then harder, faster, deeper. With each thrust he touched chords she didn’t know she possessed, until a brain-melting orgasm jolted through her from head to toe, just as she felt him climax deep inside her. They held on to one another as waves of unspeakable satisfaction shook them both, echoing from one’s body to the other and back in the exquisite aftermath.

It was a long while before Yoko managed to turn her head to her lover’s ear and whisper, “Now I know why they call it ‘making love’.”

Spotlight: Blood Lust by DJ Shaw

book-spotlight

Happy Monday. Today, I’m shining the spotlight on DJ Shaw’s novella, Blood Lust. Enjoy!

blood-lust-600x900-cover

Catriogwyn Stacey has been around for two hundred thirteen years and has seen a lot in that time. When her Great-Great-Niece, the last of her living family, dies she discovers there’s more than she thought. Will her family secrets consume her?

excerpt

When she came to, the moonlight was still shining down on her but it seemed brighter, harsher. She looked around, only to discover that she was completely alone.
She was beginning to think that she’d had some sort of lucid fantasy, until she noticed drops of blood on her skirts as she was wiping bits of debris off of them. Her hand slowed and she gathered her skirts up, preparing to run home. But a voice stopped her.
“Ah. So you have come to. For a moment there, I was afraid the change had not taken and I had simply drained you dry.”
She turned toward the voice and saw the shadow of the man who’d attacked her.
“Change? What change?” she asked him, her voice squeaking.
He simply chuckled and stepped out into the clearing. He looked her over, taking in her disheveled hair, soiled dress, and frightened eyes.
Clicking his tongue, he answered, “Why the change into Vampire. I was afraid it would not take because of the demon blood coursing through your veins. Being Succubus, your life span is much longer than that of a mere human and some Demon’s blood does not mix well with Vampire’s. But as I was draining you, I decided to give it a shot. A Succubus is a lot like a Vampire in some regards. What I want to know is how is it that you did not know you are half Succubus?”
She regarded him with some curiosity. Everything seemed to be in much better focus. She took in her surroundings again, thinking about his question. The leaves on the trees had more contrast. She could almost count the veins in them.
When she’d finished looking at everything around her, she found that she had no choice but to return her gaze to his.
“Our father disappeared when my older sister became an adolescent. Not much has been spoken about him since. Our mother died a few years after of what everyone assumed to be heartbreak. Freya, my older sister, has tried talking to me about a condition having to do with her husband after sex but I never gave her the time to finish her thoughts.”
She stopped talking abruptly. The man had been listening intently and he let out a soft sigh.
“I see,” was all he said.
She turned to the edge of the woods she’d entered the clearing through.
“Oh my god! Freya! I have to go home and tell her!”
He came close and wrapped his hand around her wrist, saying, “I am afraid you cannot go back home. You must come with me.”
She stared at him as if horns had suddenly sprouted out of his head.
“What do you mean, I cannot go home? I must! Freya and Aidan will be worried.”
He shook his head sadly, “I am sorry but you cannot. The smell of the blood coursing through their veins, especially your sister’s, will make it difficult for you to keep your hunger under control. Come, we must go.”
Catriogwyn wasn’t sure how to feel. She couldn’t stand the thought of never seeing her family again, but she’d wither away, immortal or not, if she ever hurt them. She had an internal struggle, trying to make the right decision.
“My, where are my manners? My name is Lukas Spilka and I know Miroslav, your father. In fact, he and I are good friends.”
She turned to him and raised an eyebrow, “Introductions are a bit late, do you not agree? But I am intrigued about my father. My name is Catriogwyn Stacey. You mentioned that we needed to go? Lead the way.”
She remembered him saying, “So Stacey is the last name he has fabricated for this day and age” as she took his outstretched hand and following him into the woods. He led her to a small cave that she never would have found on her own. They made small talk on their walk to that cave and it was only when they entered the mouth that she stopped him.
“You live in a cave?”
He sighed and tugged on her hand as he replied, “Yes and if you would only follow me, I will tell you why.”
She recalled his explanation and a small smile played upon her lips. She shook off the clinging remnants of the memory concerning the night she’d been turned and focused on the letter from the attorney’s office. She needed to pack and book a flight to Wilshire, Maine for the reading of her Great-Aunt Prudence’s will.

synopsis

He just wanted to cross the street and get some breakfast tacos while his car was in the shop.

She just wanted to get home and sleep after a long night shift.

But somehow, ten minutes after they bump into one another on the sidewalk, they’re in her bed together going at it like weasels.

They both think it’s crazy. They both assume it can’t last. But somehow, weeks later, then months, they’re still obsessively, anonymously, voraciously wrapped up in each other.

There are rules. No names. No personal details. Just blazing hot sex as often as they can manage it.

So what happens when, despite their every effort and intent, it starts to mean something?

Excerpt-

He waits on her doorstep repeatedly stopping himself from biting his lip, from tapping his foot, and most of all from reaching up to knock again. If she’s here and awake, she obviously would have heard the first knock, and if she’s not awake, or if she’s in the shower, he’ll just make an idiot of himself banging on the door. Rude … clueless … desperate … take your pick of what kind of idiot.

He’s got too much shit with him – went crazy at the donut shop. A dozen donuts. A carton of coffee. A drink caddy with a latte and a cappuccino and a bottle of milk and a couple handfuls of sugar packets and three different artificial sweeteners. He had to put some of it down to free up a hand to knock.

She’s not here, he thinks. Or she’s here, but shit, she all but told you she’d be out till two or three. Eight was too early. Why didn’t I say –

The door opens. She’s wrapped in a towel, hair back in a ponytail holder but with tons of stray strands jutting out.

She can tell from his expression that she looks like hell. He blinks at least three times without saying anything. He’s got a bag from a donut place in one hand, coffee on the ground by his foot. Holy god don’t let me scare him off looking like this. Her head hurts. She can feel the red in her eyes. But something in her chest starts burning at the sight of him.

“Jesus, I want to fuck the shit out of you,” she breathes, totally forgetting her plan to say she was about to take a shower.

He grins. Whew. That’s better.

Trapped in a rapidly escalating international terror plot, Dominic and Vanessa’s lie becomes the only real thing in the midst of betrayals, conspiracies, and murder. As their world falls apart, they suddenly only have each other to rely on against ruthless people who will stop at nothing to achieve their goal. Who can they trust? Who is behind the plot—her own family, a political rival of her family’s, or a terrorist organization? How far will the kidnappers go—what will they be willing to sacrifice—to control the power of the White House? Is there anywhere in the world where they can find safety?

Excerpt-

Chin resting on folded arms against the balcony’s railing, she stared down at the streets below, erratic energy zapping from her bent body encased in violet while the breeze tossed her long tresses against bare shoulders.
She was too beautiful, too known, too wild, too…much. He knew that she was the kind of woman who could devour him, who would know his soul, who would wield her power over him with advanced skill. Yet he couldn’t leave. Maybe that’s why he had come, armed with chili-cheese fries, to dare destiny.
“My great-grandmother was a painter,” she said after he’d joined her. “Being an artist is all I’ve ever wanted to do.”
“And you did it. You had a successful showing and—”
“Someone destroyed them all.”
“Yes, they did.” He couldn’t imagine having one of his resorts go up in flames. Maybe it wasn’t the same exactly, but he poured so much of himself into each design, into every part of the decision making process, that it would feel like…a death. He didn’t know what to do or what to say to ease her pain.
She blew out a long breath before standing straight and looking at him through the shadows. “It’s at least one in the morning by now. Time for bed. Are you joining me?”
He inhaled sharply at the idea of resuming where they’d left off.
“Don’t you want to…talk or something?” he asked.
“About my feelings?” Her lips twisted. “It sucks. It hurts like hell. It pisses me off. There. I talked about my feelings. We good now?”
He’d never met anyone like her. Vanessa Warren was definitely one-of-a kind. She sauntered to him, almost like a predator about to go in for the kill, stood on her tiptoes until her breath caressed his chin, and whispered, “Make me believe in something good, something better than a lie.”
He grabbed her ass and lifted her up until they were eye-to-eye. Hair licked with fire slipped across his face when she leaned over him, all color and warmth. He wanted this, wanted her. This is why he had come, to feel this again, this agony of desire that he had suppressed for years.
Fingers twisted in the strands of hair that slipped against his face. He crushed her to him, ravaging her mouth like a dying man grasping at life. Tongues teased. Teeth nipped. And he fell past a point he had never thought to cross, not that he cared, not that it mattered. In his mind, he could see the lights of the city, blurring with speed and spinning beneath them.
God, she felt good. Intoxicating. Her lips nibbled across his neck.
“I shouldn’t want you so much, but I do. I can’t stop myself,” she whispered.
“Why do you want me?” He held her firm with his fists wrapped in her hair. “Tell me.”
“You wanted me when you didn’t know who I was. We were just two people, strangers, without a past or a future. I knew you wanted to fuck me against that mural, beneath that tarp, I saw it in your eyes, thought about it all damn day. Then tonight there you were. You walked up those stairs like a predator, seeking me out, sweeping me away.”
“You want to be swept away?”
“Desperately.”
“I’ll do my best.” He scooped her off her feet and carried her from the balcony to the bedroom. He fell onto his back against the mattress with her silk-encased body draped across him.
“Damn dress.” She propped herself above him and grimaced. “Help me out of it?”
“With pleasure,” he whispered against her neck.
His fingers moved to the discreet zipper at her side and — with his gaze never leaving hers — he slid it down. She shrugged it off her left shoulder. As if unwrapping a Christmas gift, he wasted no time in sliding the rest from her lean, toned body. Velvet hissed down her torso and slipped from her legs. Clad only in strapless bra and panties with her hair falling in wild layers past her shoulders, she kicked the tangled material off her feet and flashed him a devilish smile.
“You’re deadly.” But what a way to die.
Off came the bra. She grinned like the seductress she was and tossed it aside. “I’ll be gentle.”
“Don’t lie to me anymore.” His hands covered her breasts, claiming them. “Game’s over.”
“Wrong, Nic. It’s just getting started.” She pushed his shirt from his shoulders and kissed his neck.

Interview-sign-1024x731

Q: What motivated this suspense plot about the pursuit of power?

A: I have a love/hate relationship with politics. Not only am I an activist on the local level, but I find the political spectacle fascinating. How low will someone go to win office? What will it take for someone to betray a confidante? Is the ideal of the ‘greater good’ still relevant in today’s cynical world and, if so, what exactly does that mean? Are there still genuine good guys in office—I believe there are—and what is their struggle to remain that way?

Q: That’s a lot of questions. Do you deal with them all in One True Thing?

A. In a subtle way, yes. One True Thing is essentially about Vanessa Warren’s struggle to have her own identity despite a very public upbringing and a larger than life lineage. When she is suddenly thrust into the role of a pawn to be used to manipulate her famous family, she is forced to embrace the power that comes with her last name whether she wants to or not. As the story develops, the concept of the greater good comes into play—and it’s one she openly mocks in the beginning of the book—and she eventually realizes exactly what that means. That’s all I can say without giving spoilers.

Q: But this is a love story?

A: Yes, it is definitely a love story about a man who had closed himself off to feeling much of anything about anyone. He’s devoted himself to building an empire. Tragedy made him skittish about opening his heart, which is how he winds up with the most notorious woman in the world as a date to a party to deter his matchmaking parents. Their little lie has more truth to it than they initially believe and, as the story unfolds, becomes the only true thing they can trust. He sees Vanessa as a woman without an intimidating lineage and she sees him for the kind person he once was before tragedy made him a cynic.

Q: You’re known for creating a vibrant cast of characters in all of your stories, but in this one—although there are obviously secondary players—the focus is keenly on the main characters, why did you construct it a bit differently?

A: In this story, Vanessa’s world is shrinking as she’s being hunted. Everything she has taken for granted—even friendships—is being stripped away. Layer by layer, she starts doubting the people around her, begins questioning the world she’s lived in her whole life, and realizes how isolated she has become. The only person she can trust is a stranger she met named Dominic because he has no history with her, no motivation to sell her out. Hence the architecture of this book starts out broad and works into a sharp peak with Vanessa and Dominic at its center.

Q: What is the one true thing?

A: Family. Love. Strip away the power, the money, the fame, the illusion, and there is only one true thing that matters—love.

FiveStars

What a great read! Vanessa is definitely a feisty female. Yet, underneath her tough exterior lives a woman who just wants to be left alone. Like all of us, she has dreams and goals. But, unlike most of us, she’s not free to pursue those dreams. Why? Because her family is involved in politics. And though she wants nothing to do with that life, she keeps being dragged back into the thick of things. And then she meets Dominic, the very sexy Dominic. These two are made for each other. He has secrets he’s trying to outrun and she has a killer she’s trying to stay two steps ahead of. If you enjoy a novel that is full of suspense with twist and turns that keep you on the edge of your seat, then this novel is for you. Throw in steamy sex scenes and you have a five star read. This book has definitely made me a fan of this author.

Feisty Females Part 1: Yoko from ‘The Plot’ by Melinda De Ross #Review

FeistyFemalesbanner

Happy Sexy Saturday!

June is here and all month long I’ll be shining the spotlight on feisty heroines in romance. Today’s Feisty Female is Yoko Hirano from THE PLOT by Melinda De Ross. Melinda is going to share with us what traits make her character part of the Feisty Female Club.
**My review of the book is at the bottom of the post. 🙂 **

The Plot
~Feisty Heroines: Yoko Hirano~

When I was invited to talk about my most impressive book heroine, I immediately chose to talk about Yoko Hirano, the twenty-two-year-old female lead from my Suspense Romance, THE PLOT. Yoko is one of the strongest characters I have ever created, and I admit her story wasn’t easy to write. A strong woman by nature, she was forced to become even stronger when she was pushed into prostitution at age eighteen. Unfortunately, this horrifying experience with which many women are confronted in real life every day has made her hard, almost unfeeling.

Her only goal becomes to get revenge on the Chinese triad that has stolen her innocence and destroyed her life. And to achieve that, she is willing to go on selling her body even when she escapes the tentacles of the organization. She tries to freeze her mind and heart, and performs sexual acts with strangers like a robot. That is, until she meets Mark Chandler.

Since she was a virgin when she was forced to become a prostitute, Yoko’s opinions about men and sex are very unflattering. But she senses there is a strange chemistry between her and Mark, which she can’t explain. As a prostitute, she’d never allowed any man to kiss her on the mouth, so when Mark kisses her for the first time, she is torn between shame and love.

Feeling soiled and dirty because of her past, and afraid Mark would find out about it, she refuses to do anything about the attraction between them. But Mark is persistent, and even though Yoko’s all-consuming ambition drives her to one purpose, she finds herself dazzled by the charming antique dealer. It remains to be seen if he’ll manage to overcome all of her fears and accept love completely…

The Plot Teaser 8

~What readers say about Yoko and THE PLOT~

“I loved this story, Yoko is such a strong character. I can’t imagine going through everything she has been through and she still turns out to be a strong willed, independent, ambitious woman.”

“Mark brings out the innocent, fun loving side of Yoko. I enjoyed the storyline, the interactions between characters, just the overall book. I’ll definitely be reading more books by this author.”

“A very powerful read. Human trafficking is and will always be a sensitive, controversial issues and Melinda De Ross weaves a story that will both grab and empower you to understand and feel every page of this book”

“Best work ever, Melinda.”

“De Ross handles the disastrous effects of human trafficking in a believable, sensible fashion.”

“Melinda De Ross gives us another spine tingling story. This is more intense then all her other books!”

“This was a very intense read throughout , something completely different to what I have read before.”

~My Review~

I give THE PLOT five stars. I absolutely loved it. I don’t even know where to begin. I guess I’ll start with the feisty female. From the very beginning we see that Yoko is smart and ambitious. She only wants to better her life, not only for herself, but for her family.

Then the unthinkable happens and those dreams are stolen from her. I admire her courage and her ability to stay strong during those dark years. When she breaks free from those chains she’s determined to make those who hurt her pay.

Then she meets Mark and she has to make a decision: give up her plan for revenge and turn to love instead or turn her back on love and seek the vengeance she’s dreamed about for years. You have to read the book to find out what happens.

But I will tell you this, Mark is the perfect man for her. He’s kind, caring, sexy and he has a few secrets of his own. Purchase your copy of THE PLOT to find out if Yoko chooses to follow her heart or if she allows her need for revenge to lead her away from love. Trust me, you won’t be sorry and you’ll be surprised by the twists and turns the author takes you on. I highly recommend The Plot by Melinda De Ross.

T.V. Boyfriends #ILoveMeSomeHim #Giveaway

Happy Friday!

This is the third week of the, Who’s your T.V. boyfriend or girlfriend giveaway. So, if you’re a T.V junkie like myself, you probably have tons of television boyfriends/girlfriends. No, that doesn’t make you scandalous. It makes you freaking awesome. In honor of all television junkies, every week in April I will list three of my television boyfriends. Feel free to leave one of your own in the comments section. (One of you will win a prize. Yay!)

They are not listed in order of importance. All of them are number one in my book.

~Week Three: Top Three~

This week I am giving props to the handsome men on The Walking Dead. In my honest opinion, every one in the world should watch this show. It is freaking awesome. If you like romance, they’ve got that. If you like drama, they’ve got that. If you’re into the blood and guts type shows, they’ve got tons of that. See, they have something for every one. So, let me introduce you to my Walking Dead Boyfriends!

#1 Rick Grimes and #2 Daryl Dixon

darrick

So, in this pic, they’re a little dirty, but, that’s when they’re at their best. Why do I love these two? Glad you asked. They are apocalypse warriors. They’re protective and they are caring. Neither are scared to get their hands dirty and they both will risk their lives for the people they love. When the zombie apocalypse comes, and it’s coming, I want to be around these two.

Jesus the walking dead

#3 Jesus

Yes, you read that right. Jesus. Yes, there’s a character on the show with that name. But, since I don’t feel comfortable saying, Jesus is hot, let’s call him J. J is a new character to the show and at first I thought he was the bad guy. Turns out, Mr. Sexy Eyes is on team good. Did I mention he’s part ninja? You have to watch the show to see what I mean.

Okay, when I say I love this show, I mean it. Therefore I don’t feel right leaving without sharing the other guys from the cast. I love them also.

~WEEK TWO TOP THREE~

#1 Mack: Agents of Shield.

henry-simmons-as-mack-138640

His character is awesome. I’ve loved watching him grow and change into the leader he’s become. He’s dependable, he’s always there for Daisy, and when he cried when Hunter and Bobbie left… I almost cried. Oh and he’s sexy!

#2 Ichabod Crane: Sleepy Hollow
Tom-Misson-as-Ichabod-Crane-in-Sleepy-Hollow

Despite the fact that I HATED how this season ended, I still absolutely adore Mr. Crane. First of all, he’s dreamy. He’s not just handsome, he’s dreamy. I loved his chemistry with Abbie Mills. I could listen to him talk all day long. No matter what’s in store for Sleepy Hollow, I will always be a fan of this guy.

#3 Lincoln from the 100:

Ricky_Whittle

I haven’t watched The 100 lately. But, my bestie has kept me updated on everything going on. So, yeah, I know what happens. However, I did watch season one and immediately fell in television love with Lincoln. I got two words for you, those eyes. Oh and two more, that chest.

You have to love these three! Not only are they sexy and handsome, they are also brave and loyal… a great combination. So, are these three part of your list? Leave a comment letting me know who your television boyfriends/girlfriends are.

main--Supernatural-Boyfriend

WEEK ONE TOP THREE:

#1 Dean Winchester

How can you not love Dean? He’s handsome, he can fight and he’s protective of those he loves. Plus, he loves pie just as much as I do.

#2 Sam Winchester

Sammy is super sexy. I have two words for you, that hair. I love his hair. I also love his shirtless scenes. He’s loyal to the cause and even more loyal to his brother. Love it.

#3 Castiel

Two words, that coat. He makes that coat look good. I love how clueless he is about earthly things and how close he is to Dean. Plus, he’s easy on the eyes.

Every week in April and the first week in May I will update this list adding three more of my own. May 7th, I’ll pick one random winner from the comments section. So, get to commenting.

#MarchMadness with Bailey and Max from Christmas Confusion

GirlTalkSaturday

It’s March Madness. And no, we’re not discussing basketball, we’re discussing the things that drive us to madness. You know, like toilet seats left raised, fast food joints running out of french fries, and chasing a rainbow only to find the pot of gold missing. Yeah, those things piss me off also.

Today, the characters from Christmas Confusion are sharing with us a few things that make them mad.

Sexy Woman in Martini glass. Vector Illustration.

Bailey: Here’s a few things that drives me bonkers.

1) Co-workers who feel like they run the place. You know, the kind that try to tell you what to do, but they’re at the same pay rate as you are. Until your badge says BOSS, don’t tell me when I should work.

Sorry, I’m rambling. Moving on to number 2.

2) A sister-in-law who makes my brother’s life miserable. I only have one brother and he’s my world. So, it’s hard for me to just ignore the issues he has with his wife. But I have to, because he doesn’t want me in his business. Sometimes being a little sister sucks. On to number three.

3) The fact that life isn’t fair and sometimes we lose the people we love. There’s not much to say about this one. People die. There’s nothing we can do about it. We have to keep living. Sometimes that’s hard to do when you lose a loved one. Yet, we manage. I guess we’re stronger than we think we are.

4) Dieting. That should’ve been number one. I hate it. I hate it. I hate it. Bring on the bacon.

5) Last but not least, I hate how shy I get whenever my neighbor, Max, comes around. I can’t help it. All he has to do is look at me and I forget how to speak. I really need to get a grip because it’s not like he’d want me anyway… but a girl can dream. And I dream about him almost every night. Oh well, these are five things that drive me mad.

baileymadwonhisheart

Max: I try not to get mad. I think it’s a waste of energy. However, sometimes you can’t help but get upset over certain things. Here’s a few things that drive me crazy.

1) Baby brothers.
2.) Big brothers.
3.) Sexy neighbors who ignore me. I mean, am I invisible?
4.) Love. Now that I’ve found the woman for me, it’s hard trying to convince her that I’m the one for her.
5.) Politicians.

There you have it. What? was I supposed to elaborate. Nah, that’s another thing that drives me crazy, socializing.

Alrighty then. And there you have it. To get to know these characters better you can purchase Christmas Confusion on Amazon. The Ebook is FREE with Kindle Unlimited and the print version will be available on Amazon soon.

synopsis

~Bailey Cooper has fallen in love – sadly the man she’s in love with already has a man. Sounds complicated doesn’t it? ~

Bailey Cooper is very much attracted to her neighbor, Max Davis. Unfortunately for Bailey, Greg – Max’s lover, is slowly becoming one of Bailey’s best friends. Bailey’s emotions are torn. She adores Greg’s friendship while at the same time she craves Max’s touch.

What’s a girl to do when she ‘thinks’ the man she’s in love with is in love with someone else?

Max Davis and his baby brother Greg Davis are co-owners of the apartment building they live in. Max has fallen for his tenant, Bailey, but she avoids and ignores all of his advances. It doesn’t take long for him to become suspicious of the friendship blooming between Greg and Bailey. He believes Bailey has a crush on his brother, but Max wants his shy little neighbor all to himself. Now he has to think of ways to keep Bailey and Greg apart, which is ridiculous since Greg isn’t even in to women. Time to break that news to his neighbor and hope it causes her attention to swing his way.

Will a holiday weekend full of chaos, confusion and a little bit of charm finally get Bailey and Max on the right track? Or will a few innocent caresses lead to more Christmas confusion?

Excerpt-

“He’s a very thorough lover,” Bailey talked loudly, trying to drown out the moans coming from the TV screen. She had no idea the movie ended this way. It was supposed to be a romantic comedy. Sex wasn’t usually this… arousing in romantic comedies.

“That he is,” Max said, with his eyes on her and not the television screen.

His eyes on her, combined with the sounds coming from the television, was causing her to feel things she’d never felt before. Why was she imagining Max doing those things to her and why was he still staring at her? Was he hoping for the same things she were, a touch a caress… anything to get rid of the need that was taking hold of her.

Bailey licked her lips, she felt parched. “Um, can I have a bottle of water?”

“Water? Yeah, yeah, water. I got water.” Max jumped up quickly, causing the comforter to wrap around his legs nearly tripping him. Bailey reached for him, trying to keep him from falling. Her hand landed on his jogging pants, close to his… unmentionable part. She snatched her hand away quickly and he recoiled from her touch just as fast.

“Sorry… I didn’t want you to fall… I tried to catch you…” Bailey let her sentence trail away, as she watched him right himself and untangle his feet from within the covers.

“Thanks, it’s okay. I’m okay. Everything is okay. I’m gonna go get your water now.” Max exited the room quickly, as if hell hounds were nipping at his heels.

She should go, she could tell she was making him uncomfortable and she’d almost touched his junk. Her whole body throbbed with a need she didn’t understand, and those damn TV characters wouldn’t stop moaning.
Bailey turned to the television screen in time to see the hero handcuff his bride to the bed. What in the heck was she watching? Max returned with her water and a cold beer for himself. She wished he would’ve brought her a beer also. She didn’t drink beer, but she would have loved to down one right now.
